Canadian Museum of Human Rights Atrocities Table
UX, Creative Direction, Design.

The table consists of twelve 56 inch multi-touch displays. The illustrations below represent four individual workspaces. All of the atrocities are represented on both the map and timeline visualizations, with most of them dimmed while in an inactive state. A temporal flashlight scans over the timeline and as it passes over specific atrocities, they are highlighted simultaneously in the timeline and the map, implicitly providing temporal and geographic information about them. When highlighted, key information about that atrocity emerges from the map location and stays displayed while it is in this active state. Information includes a title, quotes from survivors or activists who broke the silence, or key factoids. All is available in both English and French with equal prominence.
